Our final but fun week in Guatemala!
Final Days: Adios Amigos
I would like to have an excellent excuse as to why this blog has been so silent for the past three weeks, but I have none.
I would like to tell you the same things I told my teachers in high school when I needed an excuse about homework, but sadly I don´t think any of you will believe that a dog ate my blog posts. I don´t even have a dog (nor have I ever had one).
No, the reason for blog silence...

A quick recap of our second week in Guatemala. More to come!
Day One - Guatemala.
Today, we woke up in Guatemala city.
I find myself repeating this statement over and over in my head, and frequently out loud as I struggle to deal with the wonder and shock I feel because of this reality. We are in Guatemala…
This morning… we woke up… in Guatemala.forgive me for seeming dramatic about this, but please also recognize how exciting this is for all of us, and...
To: Guatemala. A Merry Christmas Update
First Things First,
Merry Christmas! Love Atlantic.
It’s been ages since this blog has seen any activity, but I can assure you that Atlantic has a lot of exciting news that we need to tell you all about.
Fall tour is now finished. And with that completion, two of our members are no longer with us. Joel Guptill and Josiah Swim are done touring with Atlantic and are now getting ready...

Newfoundland: All Good things Must Come to an End.
You’ve heard that statement before, right? Well I think its nonsense. Lots of things are endless: the cycle of seasons, time itself, a circle, our souls, our eternal inheritance, and of course my love for the Power Rangers (It’s Morphin’ time baby!)
But really this common expression (even if its not entirely true) seems an appropriate tagline for this post since Atlantic is currently leaving the...
Covering Some Major Ground
Here We Go Blogland. Everything you’ve been dreaming about (and more): A New Blog post from the boys in Atlantic!
… I think I just saw a tumbleweed roll across this blog, but don’t let that fool you, this blog is not abandoned.
Ok… holy smokes. It’s been too long. Straight to the point form list so that we can catch you all up to speed once again. Here are the shenanigans that have been...

Hey... Do you like Dodge Ball?
I wrote this in journal a week ago while we were at IWU…
It’s been something I’ve been continuing to think about, so I decided to share it on our blog with everyone since its been awhile since we shared anything with you guys.
September 7th 2010. IWU Library.
One warm sunny Monday afternoon, Atlantic visited a backyard pool party in a Midwestern state in the United States of America....

From Jersey to New Brunswick (5 weeks of memories)
I’m currently sitting in a coffee shop sipping on a delicious iced Hot chocolate, and I am thrilled to relay to you guys this simple message: Life is good.
Atlantic has been on the move, and we’ve seen lots of transformation along our journey these past few weeks. Hard hearts have softened as the Spirit did His thing in, through, and around us, places that were once unfamiliar camps are now full...

Lessons From Gulliver
I recently read a book called Gulliver’s Travels.
I’ve been trying to get into Classic Literature lately, and I thought it would be good to read about a traveling adventurer given that my own journey with Atlantic this summer would have me traveling across an unfamiliar country to be caught up in all sorts of unforeseen adventures…
Bad idea.
I immediately began to regret this decision.
I was so...
Blog Silence = Atlantic is busy making memories
Well friends, it’s been far too long.
Since we last blogged our world has changed quite a bit.
We are currently staying in Silver Spring, Maryland, right outside Washington D.C.
We celebrated America’s birthday in the Nations Capital, by watching some Americans blow up the sky in front of the Washington monument with a ridiculous amount of fireworks.
Yet, even something as epic as July 4th in...

Atlantic puts the ‘Rock’ in Brockville…
There you go ‘Brockville Times’, there’s a headline for your next paper (no charge).
A lot has happened since I introduced myself in my first post. We’ve moved around several times, and we’re currently in a different country, so I’ll attempt to catch you all up to speed with Atlantic’s activities.
When we discovered that the drums were actually at the Ottawa Greyhound...

Summer Tour: The Beginning for Brady…
My name is Brady Russell Van Leenen, and I’m the newest addition to the ‘Atlantic’ crew. I arrived in Ottawa on Wednesday night (May 26th) where I was greeted by three new hairy-faced-friends with their legendary van.
(That thing could fill a book with all the signatures it’s collected)
I had a smooth flight all the way over from my hometown of Maple Ridge, British Columbia, and an even smoother...

Doctrine IN Love. →
Read this today and thought it was a great thought. This line stuck out to me: “My guess is we love doctrine because it makes us feel superior, but neglect love because it calls for personal sacrifice and vulnerability.”

Washboard Wanderings
Washboard Wanderings
We were in New Orleans last night and it was quite an adventure. We did a lot of walking and a lot of looking. It was a really cool time. We heard some soothing southern music, saw some neon lights and some historic sights.
We took a walk down famous Bourbon street taking in some of the craziness of the party and enjoying the clanging metal on metal as washboards led us in...

Hey Everyone!
I would like to take a moment to share with you regarding the door God has opened for me to be his hands and feet in Central America. On January 5th I will be Boarding a plane in Toronto, Ontario and heading to Guatemala to work with a local missionary named Pastor David. I am very excited to join with Pastor Davis in what he is doing there. Most people don’t know that...
The "Agony" of Discipleship.
“I want to give my all to God, but I am scared of what He might ask me to do” has been a recurring statement among people within the church. This thought has also crossed my mind and still does so with some frequency. As I was reading this week, I was enlightened and reminded of something revolutionary: our hesitancy to commit to Jesus is rooted in a misunderstanding of His Gospel and...

The Abstract and the Right Now.
Hey all, just wanted to share something I’ve been processing. Hope this makes sense:
If we are Christians, we try and live our lives like Jesus, right? We even ask ourselves things like “What would Jesus do?” I think that this is a good question to ask, but I also think that trying to live our lives like Jesus did, can sometimes be too abstract of a concept for us to grasp....

Saturday, September 19, 2009 |Fillmore, New York| (listening to: At the drive in – relationship of command | Bright Eyes – I’m wide awake it’s morning)
Today we woke at our usual fall tour hour, 11:00am’ish. I enjoy the days when we can move at our own individual paces; getting some reading done, heading out on a jog, accomplishing some small errands or just enjoying a coffee and the scenery...
Fall Video Journal: Sept 6 - Sept 11
My apologies
Hey, I haven’t posted anything in ages because I’ve been waiting for us to get a video camera so we can do little journals. Now we have one and we can start posting stuff. I might go back to writing some more and posting more stuff. Sorry I’ve been so lazy.

Thing of the Week 4 - Free Stuff!
Hello from South Dakota!
New Pictures
I’m working hard to get our backlog of photos posted, but it’s a daunting task to sort through all the shots (~2,000) I’ve taken in the past 2 months.
I’ve posted pictures from some of our early shows on our Flickr. Check them out. More to come soon (hopefully).
