Final Days: Adios Amigos

I would like to have an excellent excuse as to why this blog has been so silent for the past three weeks, but I have none.

I would like to tell you the same things I told my teachers in high school when I needed an excuse about homework, but sadly I don´t think any of you will believe that a dog ate my blog posts.  I don´t even have a dog (nor have I ever had one).

No, the reason for blog silence is more of the same:  Atlantic has been busy.

BUT….  Today is the Day!!!

So buckle up and brace yourself for a whirlwind recap of the last three weeks!

(That was me buckling up)

One of the first things I really have been wanting to share with everyone comes not from me, but from our brother Sammy.  He´s probably one of the biggest reasons none of us have fallen into serious danger or harm down here.  So if you were hoping for stories of near death experiences, you can be mad at Sammy for denying you that because he has been taking the best care of us down here.
One day after Supper, Sammy asked for our attention.  He proceeded to give us each a booklet for the Spanish lessons he was about to begin teaching us, and then he gave us something wonderful.  He said he noticed how our tour didn´t have a name.  So he pulled out his Spanish Bible and began reading a couple verses from Song of Songs.

See! The winter is past;

The Rains are over and gone;

Flowers appear on the earth;

The Season of singing has come.

Song of Songs 2:11-12

The Season of Singing has come

With that, we kicked things into High Gear.

Street Concerts all throughout Guatemala city, kids carnivals and dance-party-worship-concerts in remote villages, swimming upstream through beautiful canyon-like rock formations, soaking underneath volcanic hotspring waterfalls, climbing ancient Mayan ruins to see landscapes beyond description, bartering for souvenirs at local markets, people getting sick, visiting slums and playing soccer in the streets with all the kids, volunteering to clean houses in the community around our host-church, more singing and dancing with kids, visiting various churches to lead worship and have Cory share, brilliant starry ferry rides on barge-like boats, getting crushed by ocean waves on the black sandy beaches of Monterico, resting in Hammocks, releasing baby turtles into the pacific ocean, more singing and dancing with kids, youth rallies with local youth groups, 5:00 AM feeding programs based out of the church, playing with the cutest kids in the world at a local orphanage, visiting small groups from the church and enjoying awesome food, Farewell party at the Doirons-neighbours (Eddie and Michelle), and now today… hiking a Volcano.

Needless to say, it has been an adventure.

Our lives have been changed by the country and people of Guatemala.

And as we say our goodbyes to our brothers and sisters in Guatemala, it´s necessary for me to write up another goodbye.  A goodbye to all of you guys.

With the conclusion of this Guatemalan adventure, my time with Atlantic comes to an end.

I (Brady) will be flying back to Vancouver, British Columbia (my home) tomorrow morning, and the guys will be returning back to the states to get ready for the next chapter of their journey.

At the same time, original guitarist, and legendary heartthrob Drew Wallace will also be taking a year off from the band to explore and serve in the different ministry opportunities God has for him.

Its been a blessing to apart of Atlantic, and apart of all of your lives.  So thank you for your prayers, encouragement, and for all the love and support.

As this will be my last blog post, I would just like to say thanks for sharing in our journey on here.  And now, I will be joining the ranks of all of you faithful readers, waiting anxiously for someone else to post about Atlantics exciting life.
Exciting things are on the horizon for
Atlantic.

Mucho Gracias, y Adios Amigos.

Love
